CAROLLE BÉNITAH 

Carolle Bénitah (Casablanca, Morocco 1965 - Marseille, France 2024) after graduating from the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne (Paris)  worked for 10 years as a fashion designer and then devoted herself to photography since 2001. In 2015 she graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, France. 

Her work explores the themes of memory, family, and passing time, combining old photographs found in flea markets with hand-made details - embroidery with silk threads or glass beads, interventions in ink or gold leaf, thus reinterpreting her own life as a daughter, wife and mother. 

Carolle Bénitah's works have been published in numerous international magazines such as Leica World, Shots Magazine, Photos Nouvelles, Spot, Center for Photography Houston, Foto Noviny, Lens Culture, Internazionale.
