Fulvio Magurno, born in Sicily in 1958, spent his youth in Naples to then move north and settle in Genoa, a city to which he devoted considerable attention with his complex photographic research. A reserved artist, far from the shy author and far from glamour scene, Magurno has been carrying out his particular research for some time in which, with a dynamic and unusual use of black and white, he goes through different situations - from the most classic photo-reportage to the works in which the form takes on greater importance - always maintaining a sophisticated and personal level of formal expression. His photographs are kept in important public and private collections, such as the Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery of Bergamo, the Cabinet des Estampes Bibliotèque Nationale de France-Paris, the Ken Damy Museum of Brescia, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Villa Croce -Genoa, Center Mediterraneen de la Photographie-Bastia, the Antonio Mazzotta Foundation, Milan, the Museum of Contemporary Photography-Cinisello Balsamo, the GAM of Turin (Italian Foundation for Photography fund), the Edoardo Garrone Foundation, Genoa, Giovanna Piras Foundation, Asti.
